The admission procedure at MCE consists on written application documents and a written admission test on Biology and Chemistry.

This procedure does not require a high school diploma to begin with and thus can be carried out while still in the last year of school. The admission test can be completed online or at the MCE Campus in Malta during one of our admission events or during the admission dates organized by our Official Partners.

Admission test

The admission test for the degree course in Medicine consists of 75 multiple-choice questions on biology (50 questions) and chemistry (25 questions) with four response options and both areas being equally weighted. The students have 90 minutes to finish the test. The goal of this admission test is to pick the students with strong scientific skills and the highest potential for a successful career in Medicine.

Degree qualification

The prerequisite for studying at MCE is a general university entrance qualification. It is also possible to apply with a non-EU school degree – provided that the respective school diploma corresponds to the European Abitur (e.g., A-Levels or International Baccalaureate). Applicants with a different higher education entrance qualification should contact the MCE Office of Admissions.

Admission restrictions

If you are an EU citizen and you hold a higher education entrance qualification, no specific average grade is required to apply for the program. Admission takes place via an internal MCE selection procedure. Applicants with higher education entrance qualifications who have been granted university entrance qualifications in a NON-EU country should contact the MCE Office of Admissions for information on any admission restrictions.
